Regenerative Food Systems
Our goal? Build a food system that gives back to the land, people, and communities. Here’s how we’re doing it:
🌱 SB 127 - Agricultural Grants for Farmers
This bill gives grants (a.k.a. free money!) to farmers, helping them grow more food locally. By supporting our farmers, we can have fresher food, fewer imports, and a more sustainable Hawai‘i! 🌎🍍
🥕 Farm to Families Program
This program makes sure fresh, local food gets to families who need it most. Instead of relying on processed or imported foods, this bill helps connect local farmers with local families—everyone wins! 🏡👩🌾
🌾 HB 968 - Healthy Soils & Carbon Sequestration
Soil isn’t just dirt—it’s a powerful tool for fighting climate change! 🌍 This bill funds a program that helps farmers improve their soil so it can store carbon (a.k.a. keep CO₂ out of the air) and make crops healthier. Better soil = stronger farms + a cleaner planet! 🌿
🏫 HB 328 - Free & Healthy School Meals
This bill helps expand free school meals so more students get nutritious food at school—no matter their family’s income. Good food = better learning, stronger bodies, and happier students! 🍎📚
These bills help support local food systems, protect the environment, and make sure everyone has access to healthy meals. Want to make a difference? Speak up and support these policies! 🎤🙌
